Jesus Christ says, “If your brother sins, rebuke him.” [Luke 17:3].
The Greek means, “INTENSELY REBUKE and CHARGE him with FAULT.”
What about, “If someone is caught in a sin restore him gently.”[Gal. 6:1]?
This original word means, “humbly.” We are to restore people, not
in the spirit of pride, but with humility! We are commanded to INTENSELY
REBUKE people…and do it, not with pride, but in humility!
God’s Word commands, “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness
but all the more greatly EXPOSE and CONVICT with SHAME.” [Eph. 5:11 Greek].
God’s Word says, “Hold firmly to the trustworthy Word
…EXPOSE and CONVICT with SHAME those who oppose it.” [Titus 1:9 Greek].
God’s Word says, “EXPOSE and CONVICT with SHAME &
SHARPLY, SEVERELY CUT” people! [Titus 1:13 Greek].
God’s Word says, “Speaking the truth in love.” [Eph. 4:15].
Jesus said, “The TRUTH will SET YOU FREE” [Jn. 8:32].
“DO EVERYTHING in LOVE.” [1Cor.16:14]
Jesus The Greatest Name Caller
The whole chapter of Mt. 23 how the loving Jesus said, “You snakes! You brood of vipers!
How will you escape being DAMNED to HELL!!”[Mt.23:33] and calling people, “Blind Fools,
Blind Men, Blind Pharisees and calling them “twice as much sons of Hell”[Mt.23:15]
…Jesus called people hypocrites 15 times! Jesus called a person Satan. [Mt. 16:23]
And Jesus called someone Devil.[Jn. 6:70]…Should we not follow Jesus’ example??
The Early Christians Boldly Spoke the Truth
…Peter said,”You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate,
though he had decided to let him go. You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and
asked that a murderer be released to you. You killed the author of life.”[Acts 3:13-15]
…Paul said, “You are a child of the Devil and an enemy of everything that is right!
You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery. Will you never stop perverting the right
ways of the Lord? Now the hand of the Lord is against you.” [Acts 13:10,11]
…Should we not follow the example of the early Christians??
How Did the Church Start?
Here is the account of the the “Opening Day” of the Church of Jesus: Peter spoke
the convicting truth, “Let all Israel be assured of this, God has made this Jesus,
WHOM YOU CRUCIFIED, both Lord and Christ.” When the people heard this they
were VIOLENTLY PIERCED AND CUT TO THE HEART…and said, “What shall we
do?” Peter said, “Change/repent”…and about 3,000 were added to their number
that day.”[Acts 2:36-41] The truth set them free and the Church started! When you
speak to someone are they VIOLENTLY PIERCED AND CUT TO THE HEART??
Jesus commanded…Expose!! Expose!! Expose!!
If someone sins Jesus commanded us to EXPOSE, REBUKE and CONVICT them with
SHAME! 1st do this in private…but if he will not listen take one or two witnesses with
you and expose the sin! If he will not listen expose the sin to the church! And if he still
refuses to listen treat him as a Pagan and a Tax collector! [Mt.18:15-17].
If someone sins Jesus commanded…Expose!! Expose!! Expose!!
We are commanded by God
We are commanded to…INTENSELY REBUKE and CHARGE people with FAULT!
…to EXPOSE and CONVICT with SHAME!
…to EXPOSE and CONVICT with SHAME people who oppose God’s Word!
…to EXPOSE and CONVICT with SHAME & SHARPLY, SEVERELY CUT people!
…to SPEAK the TRUTH in LOVE!…to DO EVERYTHING in LOVE.”
Love is the greatest!! The ONLY motive for exposing and rebuking must be out of
100% LOVE and humility with the sole purpose of SETTING PEOPLE FREE!!
Because Jesus said, “The TRUTH will SET YOU FREE” [Jn.8:32]
